The White House announced today that reciprocal tariffs will be implemented under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA). The fact sheet and executive order published today advises:
The tariffs are in addition to other duties, taxes, fees, and charges already in place – except for the exempted goods from Canada and Mexico. The tariffs will remain in place until the U.S. government determines that increases or decreases should be implemented.
Goods entered into a foreign trade zone (FTZ) on or after 12:01 am EST on April 9 must be admitted as “privileged foreign status,” except for goods that are eligible for admission under “domestic status.”

On April 3, 2025, the White House published an update listing over 1,000 products that are exempt from the order.
